As Catholic parents, we have the responsibility of being the primary educators in our child’s faith development. We bring our child into the Church in Baptism so that they may begin their journey in faith with the blessings of the waters of Baptism.
After a 2 year peparation process, children in Grade 2 will receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist.
All policies and procedures regarding thse two Holy Sacraments can be found in our handbook: First_Reconciliation_and_First_Eucharist_Handbook_2022-2023.pdf
We encourage all parents of children making these important Sacraments to take time in prayer for their child and to refresh their knowledge and understanding of these Sacraments. Please do everything you can to help prepare your child for these blessed Sacraments.
In order to participate in the preparation process, please help your child learn the Act of Contritiion, the Ten Commandments, the Great Commandment, and the main parts of the Mass.
Act of Contrition
My God, I am sorry for my sins with
all my heart. In choosing to do wrong
and failing to do good, I have sinned
against you whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help,
to do penance, to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our savior Jesus Christ
suffered and died for us.
In His name, my God, have mercy. Amen.
