First Reconciliation and Eucharist

Catholic parents we have the awesome responsibility of being the primary educators in our child’s faith development. We bring our child into the Church in Baptism so that they may begin their journey in faith with the blessings of the waters of Baptism.

All children in Grade 2 will receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion. Preparation for these two sacraments began in Grade 1 and will continue through their reception in the spring of their Second Grade year.

We encourage all parents of children making these important sacraments to take time in prayer for their child and to refresh their knowledge and understanding of these sacraments. Please do everything you can to help prepare your child for these blessed sacraments.

Below is a link to our Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist Parent Handbook. In it you will find important information on schedules, policies, dress codes, and contact information.

Also included, but of special note, is the following that your child will need your help in learning.

 Act of Contrition

My God, I am sorry for my sins with
all my heart. In choosing to do wrong
and failing to do good, I have sinned
against you whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help,
to do penance, to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our savior Jesus Christ
suffered and died for us.
In His name, my God, have mercy. Amen.
