Our Lady of Lourdes Rosary Altar Society would like to cordially invite new members. We have a lively calendar throughout the year and we encourage new ideas from our parish. We fundraiser and do beautiful things for the local communities in need, as well as continually donating many items to our church. Bernadette's Busy Beads
Our next meeting will be held on Sunday, March 23rd from 2 to 4 pm in the youth group room.
Bernadette's Busy Beads, the parish crafters, kicked off the new year by acknowledging the blessings offered in 2024 by its members. Over 700 hand made items were distributed to various hospitals and agencies as well as 25 filled blessings bags for Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.
The ministry is a small but powerful group. At the January meeting, 15 busy beads attended bringing finished items as well as working on current projects. By the end of the gathering, our table was filled with over 175 items. Distributed the following week were 30 hats to a local mom and teacher, working in a Elizabeth school, who was appealing for coats and accessories for her students in desperate need. Also 30 toddler/kid size hats were dropped off to a day care in North Plainfield. 30+ warm adult hats were set aside for blessing bags in our February meeting.
Our focus will be on the blessing bag completion, Valentine hats for the newborns and the remaining "no sew blankets" not completed in December. So you can see, we have various projects going on that you can get involved in, and bring your ideas as we are always open to new suggestions.
We knit, crochet and loom. No previous skills require to loom. Come try something new. Bring a friend and make new ones. All are welcome.
